Pairing sacred Gurmukhi script with refined Latin typefaces for clarity across generations
Rather than maintaining disparate page trees, the digital platform employs a unified structural framework where English and Punjabi co-exist harmoniously. The global language switch instantly transitions all content blocks without jarring layout shifts or horizontal clipping.
Letterforms in Gurmukhi feature distinct horizontal shirorekha head-strokes. We selected Noto Serif Gurmukhi with custom optical weight pairings to balance the dignified elegance of Playfair Display and Inter.
Line heights were calibrated to 1.65× across all Gurmukhi bodies, guaranteeing ample clearance for top vowels (Hōṛā, Kanauṛā, Bindi) and foot matras (Aukaṛ, Dulankaṛ) without clipping.
